Airgel

The airgel in the form of insulating plates is a very efficient solution for the thermal insulation of all building components (walls, roof, floors ...) because it has a thermal conductivity index between 0.005 and 0.015 W / mK.

Autoclaved aerated concrete

It is an inorganic material obtained by mixing quartz sand and gypsum with cement, water and aluminum. In green building it is used in blocks that have a thermal conductivity of about 0.040 W / mK.

Hemp fiber

It has a thermal conductivity ranging from 0.035 to 0.043 W / mK. More powerful insulators see the union of hemp fiber with polyester or other insulators of artificial origin.

Wood fiber

It is highly insulating especially when combined with cork panels. Wood fiber, useful for insulating roofs, floors and walls, although it is a natural insulating material, is often combined with glues and bitumen which, combined together, form insulating panels. Rock wool

Fiberglass

Don't be fooled by the name, glass wool is a synthetic material made from quartz sand, resins and other components. It is marketed in the form of rolls, felts and panels. Its thermal conductivity ranges from 0.030 to 0.048 W / mK.

Expanded perlite

Used mainly for the insulation of roofs, floors and for filling cavities. It is composed of silica and oxides of aluminum, iron, sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium. It has a grain size of 2/5 mm. Its thermal conductivity fluctuates between 0.043 and 0.052 W / mk.

Extruded expanded polystyrene

Also known as XPS, extruded polystyrene foam is a fairly durable inorganic insulation material. Guarantees good thermal insulation for 30 - 40 years. Its thermal conductivity is 0.030 - 0.040. It is slightly more efficient than synthesized expanded polystyrene (ESP).
