RhOME for denCity and the Italian green architectural project created by the team ofUniversity of RomaTre and selected among the twenty finalists at the Solar Decathlon 2014, L'World Olympics of the most sustainable houses conceived by the US Department of Energy.
The final stage of the Solar Decathlon 2014 will be held in Versailles, France, in June 2014 and will see world excellences compete against each other in bioarchitecture. The goodness of each project will be judged on the basis of 13 parameters:
5) energy balance
9) urban design
11) economic convenience
The Italian team of RhOME for denCity, will challenge 19 other greener homes in the world from Chile, Costa Rica, Denmark, France, Germany, Japan, India, Mexico, Holland, Romania, Spain, United States, Switzerland, Thailand and Taiwan.
The house designed by the Rhome team produces more than it consumes and has energy performance almost 8 times higher than those of an energy class C and one and a half times higher than those of an energy class A +, thanks to the innovative heat pump made by Daikin Italy, in charge of optimizing the heating and cooling of the house.
To learn more about the team members and the characteristics of the project, we propose the official presentation video of the project RhOME for denCity delivered to Solar Decathlon 2014.
Among the other strengths of the project we point out theflexible photovoltaic solar panels integrated into the shading screens of the loggias developed by Solbian and the kitchen made byValcucine, designed to be 80% reusable and 100% recyclable and made without the use of glues.
The House ofRhOME for denCity thus it is proposed as an important springboard for the spread of a new way of thinking, designing and building houses: more conscientious and aware, in favor of future generations.
